Andrew Velazquez has a hit in six consecutive games for the Los Angeles Angels entering tonight’s game with the Texas Rangers.
The Fordham Prep graduate is 6 for-22 over his last six games with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base.
For the season, he’s hitting .196 with 12 runs scored, one home run and five RBI.
The Angels claimed Velazquez off waivers from the New York Yankees following the 2021 season and started 2022 season with the Salt Lake Bees, the Class AAA affiliate of the Angels. The 27-year-old shortstop was originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the seventh round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.
