St. Raymond is ranked second in this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association Class AA boys basketball poll.
St. Raymond has won 12 consecutive games and 17 of its last 18 after an 0-3 start to the season. The one loss in the 17-1 stretch was a 69-52 defeat at the Westchester County Center in White Plains to Long Island Lutheran, which ranked first in this week’s state poll.
St. Raymond hosts St. Francis on Feb. 5 and Iona Prep on Feb. 8.
Other archdiocese schools in the state rankings:

CLASS A — 8-All Hallows, 12-Fordham Prep. 13-Msgr. Farrell, 18-Xavier
Cardinal Hayes High School will be hosting its 24th and final Hayes Invitational at Fordham University in the Bronx at 5 p.m. Jan. 4.
Some 400 athletes have been invited to compete in 26 track and field events.
Catholic and private high schools invited include All Hallows, the Bronx; Archbishop Molloy, Queens; Archbishop Stepinac, White Plains; Cardinal Spellman, the Bronx; Fordham Prep, the Bronx; Iona Prep, New Rochelle; La Salle Academy, Manhattan; Mount St. Michael, the Bronx; Regis, Manhattan; Salesian, New Rochelle; St. Raymond, the Bronx; St. Joseph by-the-Sea, Staten Island; Townsend Harris, Queens; St. Francis Prep, Queens; Hackley, Tarrytown; Collegiate, Manhattan; and Cardinal Hayes, the Bronx.

Archbishop Stepinac hosts St. Raymond at 4 p.m. Stepinac beat Cardinal Hayes, 7-1, on Thursday and St. Raymond was a 6-2 winner over Salesian on Thursday.
All Hallows meets St. Joseph by-the-Sea in the Bronx at 4 p.m. All Hallows is coming off convincing wins over Bronx rivals Cardinal Spellman and Mount St. Michael on Wednesday.
Kennedy Catholic (1-0) travels to Brooklyn to oppose Xavier in its season opener at 4:30 p.m. Kennedy Catholic is coming off a 15-3 season in the CHSAA AA standings.
The CHSAA Archdiocesan Boys Basketball Tournament begins Sunday with four quarterfinal games at St. Raymond’s in the Bronx.
1 p.m. — No. 7 All Hallows vs. No. 2 Iona Prep
2:45 p.m — No. 6 Mount St. Michael vs. No. 3 Stepinac
4:30 p.m. — No. 8 Scanlan vs. No. 1 Cardinal Hayes
6:15 p.m. — No. 5 St. Peter’s vs. No. 4 St. Raymond
The semifinals and final will follow on days and times to be determined.
The 24th annual Cardinal Hayes High School Track and Field Invitational is Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. at Fordham University.
Fourteen private, public and Catholic high schools are scheduled to participate, including All Hallows, Cardinal Spellman, Fordham Prep, Iona Prep, LaSalle Academy, Mount St. Michael, Regis, Salesian and St. Raymond from the archdiocese.
Some 500 athletes are expected to compete in seven running and four field events.
