Williams Enters NFL Draft

Archbishop Stepinac High School graduate Trill Williams announced he is forgoing the remainder of his junior season and has declared himself eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Williams is a defensive back at Syracuse and ranks among the top college defensive backs in the nation.

“I can’t begin to express how humbled I am by the love you’ve shown me throughout my time here,” Williams said in a letter to ‘Syracuse Nation’ posted on the university website. “From day one you’ve made me feel welcome, and because of that I played as hard as I could for you every week. Coach Babers, Coach Monroe and the rest of the coaching staff took a young kid and helped him on his journey to becoming a man. I’ll forever be grateful.

“The memories I’ve made with my brothers here will last a lifetime and I wouldn’t have wanted to share those with anyone else. We all play this game with hopes of reaching the highest level and now it’s my time to open that door. It’s been a dream of mine to play in the NFL since I was six years old. With that being said, I will forgo the final four games of the season and submit my name into the 2021 NFL Draft.”

Syracuse competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference and was 1-6 overall with Williams on the roster this season.

In his collegiate career, Williams collected 93 tackles, four interceptions, three forced fumbles and 3.5 tackles for loss in 28 games. He’s scored three career touchdowns, including a fumble recovery and touchdown during overtime in a 2019 win over Wake Forest.
