Citron Commits to Notre Dame

Sonia Citron of The Ursuline School announced on Twitter last week that she will be attending the University of Notre Dame for the 2021-2022 school year.

“So blessed and excited to announce my commitment to the University of Notre Dame. Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way. I wouldn’t be where
I am today without you,” she said in her Twitter announcement.

Citron led Ursuline to the Section 1 Class AA championship and a 24-0 record in 2019-2020. The season came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic before the state regional semifinal against Monroe-Woodbury.

The 6-foot-1 guard was named the 2019-2020 Gatorade New York State Girls Basketball Player of the Year. In 2019, she earned all-tournament honors after leading Team USA to International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) U16 Americas Championship in Chile.
