Second seed Iona Prep and third seed Archbishop Stepinac are competing for a spot in the Catholic High School Football League of Metropolitan New York AAA League final when they meet Saturday in New Rochelle.
The two rivals met in the second week of the regular season with Iona Prep winning, 36-34, in overtime at Stepinac.
In the quarterfinals, Iona Prep beat Chaminade, 42-21, and Stepinac was a 51-13 winner over Christ the King. Stepinac is the defending league and state champion.
In the other semifinal, fifth seed and 2016 champion Cardinal Hayes opposes top seed St. Anthony’s.
In the AA League, top seed Kellenberg and second seed Fordham Prep will meet on Long Island in a semifinal that is a rematch of last year’s final won by Kellenberg.
In the A League, John F. Kennedy Catholic and defending champ Cardinal Spellman are the top two seeds and host semifinals on Friday night.
