Cardinal Spellman High School graduate Chris Manhertz will be in action Sunday when the tight end and his Carolina Panthers host the Cincinnati Bengals.
Manhertz is looking for his reception of the season with the Panthers, who are without starting tight end Greg Olsen due to a broken right foot.
Manhertz, who played basketball at Canisius in Buffalo, is in his third season with the Panthers and started four of 16 games last season, finishing with two receptions for 17 yards.
Manhertz, 26, was signed as a undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills in 2015. After the Bills released him, the New Orleans Saints signed him and placed him on their 2015 practice squad. He started two of three games for the Saints in 2016 before being released and picked up by the Panthers.
