Our Lady of Lourdes High School junior Jaheim Jones won two public high school championships and placed second in two events at federations to lead Catholic high school athletes from the archdiocese at the state track and field championships hosted by Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
Jones won public high school Division 2 titles in the 100-meter dash, 10.71 seconds, and 200, 21.78. He was second at federations in the 100, 10.57 seconds, and 200, 21.51.
Msgr. Farrell’s Charles Crispi was third in the pole vault at federations, clearing 15 feet, 3 inches. Crispi was the federation indoor state champion in the event earlier this year.
The Cardinal Hayes 400 relay team of Elijah Jones, Jose Franco, Sanjay Parilall and Jahlahnee Watkins was third in 42.54 seconds. Jones also was third in the 200, 21.72 seconds.
Ursuline’s Lily Flynn led the girls, placing third in the 1,500 with a time of 4:27.80. Lourdes’ Caroline Timm was the first Division 2 runner to finish, placing fourth overall in 4:28.41.
