“This year, we came together as a team and played great. Even when we lost, we did so as a team. We teach our players that the team comes first. Even through we graduated five seniors, we will still have talent returning and hope to have a competitive team again next season,” said St. Catharine coach Carlos Iglesias.
The Huskies reached the city championship game by beating Manhattan champion St. Vincent Ferrer, 6-5. Destiny Sanchez delivered the winning RBI hit.
St. Catharine won the Archdiocesan Championship with a 16-2 win over Msgr. Scanlan. Freshman Ciaran Iglesias was the winning pitcher.
