Msgr. Scanlan High School senior Jaylene Brown signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
Brown, who helped Msgr. Scanlan’s girls basketball program to archdiocese championships in 2016 and 2017, has a 94.58 grade-point average, placing her sixth out of the 111 students in her senior class. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and is president of the math and science honor societies and Rho Kappa & Mu Alpha Theta at her school.
St. Francis College, which finished 13-17 in 2017-2018, qualified for the 2015 NCAA Tournament, and one year later had the nation’s highest grade-point average among NCAA Division I women’s basketball programs with a 3.712.
