The Xavier boys and Notre Dame Academy girls claimed the CHSAA intersectional state boys and girls cross country team championships, respectively, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Saturday.
Xavier placed five runners in the top 13 to finish with 35 points, compared to 65 points for second-place St. Anthony’s. Aidan Donahue took second place with a time of 12 minutes, 50.61 seconds on the 2.5-mile course to lead Xavier finishers.
Notre Dame had five runners finish in the top 10, finishing with 33 points. Sacred Heart was second with 72 points.
Notre Dame’s Sierra Dinneen (15:16.87) was second on the 2.5-mile course.
The top finishers and teams will be competing in Saturday’s New York Federation meet at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls.
