The championship games are finalized for the Catholic High School Football League of Metropolitan New York with all three games scheduled for Saturday at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale.
In AAA, third seed Archbishop Stepinac and top seed St. Anthony’s play at 6 p.m. Stepinac, which beat St. Anthony’s during the regular season, advanced with a 13-12 victory over Cardinal Hayes in a rematch of the 2016 title game. St. Anthony’s cruised past No. 5 Iona Prep, 35-7, in its semifinal. Quarterbacks Mike Nicosia of Stepinac and Greg Campisi of St. Anthony’s each have thrown for over 1,500 yards this season.
In AA, No. 2 Fordham Prep looks to avenge a regular-season loss when it meets No. 1 Kellenberg at 2:30 p.m. Kellenberg won the regular-season battle, 34-24, on Oct. 6. Fordham Prep quarterback Matthew Valecce is approaching 3,000 passing yards for the season.
In A, No. 2 Cardinal Spellman and No. 1 Xavierian compete for the championship at 11 a.m. Xaverian beat Cardinal Spellman, 20-6, in a regular-season contest on Nov. 3.
