Aquinas Wins Girls State Catholic School Title; 2 Schools Fall Short

Aquinas was the B Division winner of the Catholic high school girls basketball state championship with a 49-40 win over St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn at Fordham University on March 11 and is off to Glens Falls to compete in the New York State Federation Tournament of Champions on March 24-26.

Msgr. Scanlan lost in the AA Division state championship game to Mary Louis Academy, 66-55, in overtime on March 11.

In the A Division semifinal, St. Joseph by-the-Sea came up on the short end of a 49-46 decision to Kellenberg.
